Welcome to the Team: Manager of Facility Operations, Sydney Sturdevant
Dove House is elated to welcome Sydney Sturdevant to the team as the manager of facility operations. The Anderson University BSN (Bachelor of Nursing) graduate is no stranger to the work of Dove House. In her previous role as an addiction and recovery nurse at Dr. Aziz, she provided care to our residents.
During her six years with the community-based clinic, Sydney had the opportunity to work with underserved populations, which is how she uncovered an unknown passion for serving those suffering from substance use disorder. As the manager of facility operations, Sydney looks forward to collaborating with the staff and residents to promote an environment that is conducive to healing, growth and prosperity.
“I am most excited to be a part of an organization and mission that goes head-to-head with some of the toughest battles that these women previously had to face,” Sydney shared.
Some of her day-to-day responsibilities as the facility operations manager include supervising the resident advocates, building relationships with Dove House supporters and managing the logistics of resident admission and discharges. Sydney will ensure the house operates in a safe and secure manner, but even more than that, she will be a champion for the women who seek services at Dove House.
“My wish for the women is that they will be able to maintain healthy relationships, form new habits all while learning to love and explore who they are as individuals,” she said. “I hope to advance the mission of Dove by loving the woman as they are, for who they are and to emulate a safe space for them to show up, make mistakes and learn about life and its many facets.”
In her free time, Sydney enjoys traveling to new cities, spending time with her family and friends, frolicking with her two dogs and finding new and trendy restaurants. We are excited to see the impact Sydney will certainly make at Dove House. Welcome to the team!
