Dove Recovery House for Women

A FREE, SAFE, AND SOBER HOME

Dove Recovery House is Marion County’s largest recovery residence for women. Since 2000, hundreds of women have made Dove House their home as they seek recovery from substance use disorder. More than 70% of our residents have successfully completed the program or are on track to successfully complete.

Requirements for Admission

Must identify as female and be 18+ years of age
Have personal experience with alcohol and/or drug use (substance use disorder)
Be committed to recovery

Programming comes at no cost to our residents, thanks to the generous support of donors, corporate sponsors, and grants.

DOVE HOUSE MARION COUNTY

In December 2016, Dove House moved its home to the corner of 33rd and Meridian Street, just north of downtown Indianapolis. This building – made possible by the generosity of the Summerlin Family – allows Dove House to accommodate 40 residents at a time.

The house provides a calm and serene environment that fosters community and support. Rooms and dorms are brightly lit and cheerfully decorated spaces. Individual touches by residents are encouraged.

A community space and library offer opportunities for recreation and learning. Women at Dove House congregate in the common room for meals, group meetings, and to socialize and spend quality time together.

DOVE HOUSE DUBOIS COUNTY

Dove Recovery House for Women joined Dubois County in the fall of 2022. This new home is located at 1480 Knust St. in Jasper, Indiana, and houses up to 15 women, addressing a significant treatment gap, as the county currently does not have a recovery residence for women impacted by substance use disorder.

Dove House Dubois County provides free housing and comprehensive clinical services thanks to a partnership with the Dubois County Community Foundation. In late 2020, the Community Foundation received a $4.4 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to improve mental health and addiction treatment services in the community.

The Knust Street home was donated by the City of Jasper for use as recovery housing.  The house is two stories with an ADA compliant bedroom on the main floor, three double rooms and a dorm room. Additionally, the house has ample living space for group programming and gathering, as well as a kitchen, laundry room and front porch.

PROGRAMS — LIVES TRANSFORMED

Substance use disorder is a chronic disease characterized by compulsive or uncontrollable drug seeking behavior and use, despite harmful consequences and changes in the brain which can be long lasting. These changes in the brain can lead to the harmful behaviors seen in people who use drugs. This year, more than 23 million people will have a substance use disorder. Dove Recovery House is here to help you or your loved one.
