“Everything I’ve been missing in my life and that I’ve desired is in this house. Drugs gave me a false sense of family and being loved. There is a true sense of connection, love, and community at Dove House. It’s safe.”

Journey – First Day

Each month, more than 100 women contact Dove House, hoping that the day they make that phone call is the first step towards sobriety and the road to recovery. As women come to the Dove House ready to shed their addictions, their needs, hopes, and dreams vary – to overcome trauma and be safe, to be known and loved, to reunite with family, to go back to school or find employment, to live a healthier life. From the first day at Dove House, our women are affirmed that all of these hopes are possible because they have taken the first step to rewriting their narrative.

Dove House is a transitional housing facility that is staffed around the clock. Every morning, residents meet as a group with a Dove House case manager to participate in morning reflection and start the day on a positive note.

During the day, each woman will meet one-on-one with their dedicated case manager, participate in therapy and life-skills workshops, and attend outside groups and classes. Residents also attend 12-step meetings, work with a sponsor, and are responsible for daily chores at the Dove House.
