Dove Recovery House for Women Announces $2.5 Million Capital Campaign
The Indianapolis-based addiction treatment and recovery residence plans 5,000 square foot expansion to address demand for women-centered services in Marion County.
INDIANAPOLIS —Today, Dove Recovery House for Women launched the public phase of its $2.5 million Groundbreaking Impact Capital Campaign, with a matching gift from the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation, Inc. Funds raised from the campaign will expand Dove House’s main campus at 34th and Meridian. The 5,000 square foot expansion will add 15 residential beds and relocate the Community Outreach Center, currently at 18th and Meridian, bringing the two locations together to work collaboratively on one campus.
“The demand for women-centered addiction treatment and recovery services has never been greater and now is the time to take action,” said Dove House CEO Wendy Noe. “By expanding Dove House’s capacity from 40 to 55 beds, we will be able to immediately move women off the waitlist and into care. Additionally, relocating the Outreach Center to our main campus will allow more women to seamlessly access outpatient services and grow a connection with the community while awaiting residential admission.”
Thanks to a generous grant from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) as well as a matching gift (up to $300,000) from the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation, Dove House fully anticipates reaching its fundraising goal through individual and community donations in the months to come.
“The Fairbanks Foundation is focused on addressing our city’s biggest public health challenges, one of which is substance use disorder,” said Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation President and CEO Claire Fiddian-Green. “Dove House has a proven track record of helping women in our community achieve long-term sobriety and we are delighted to support the Groundbreaking Impact Capital Campaign with a dollar-for-dollar match.”
With the devastating increase in drug overdose deaths in the United States, more than 85 women currently on the Dove House waitlist and over 120 inquiries for admission each month, the nonprofit women’s treatment and recovery residence recognizes the urgent need for this expansion. Dove House residents stay for an average of seven months and receive free housing, meals, treatment and comprehensive wraparound services.
